Chapter 8
The King's Legacy
The final choice is made. Kaelan either seals the blade, finding peace in sacrifice, or claims its power, facing an uncertain, potentially dark future. The forgotten king's legacy is decided.

I could feel its hunger, a dark, insatiable void that promised everything and demanded it all in return. Redemption. That was the lure. To wield this power, to prove to myself, to the world that had cast me out, that I was more than the failure they remembered.
But then, a voice, like the rustle of dry leaves, echoed in the stillness. The Hermit’s words. *“Infinite power is a lie, Sir Kaelan. It is a cage, gilded and beautiful, but a cage nonetheless. Its true purpose is not to be wielded, but to be contained.”*
