The metallic tang of blood was thick in the air, a coppery perfume that clung to the sweat on my brow and the grit beneath my fingernails. My lungs burned, each gasp a ragged testament to the brutal dance I’d been locked in. Theron’s men, a relentless tide of steel and fury, had been driven back, but at a terrible cost. My own knights, the few who remained, lay scattered like broken toys, their lifeblood staining the snow a gruesome crimson. And there, amidst the carnage, it pulsed.

It lay on a pedestal of obsidian, an altar carved from the very heart of the mountain, bathed in an unholy light that seemed to emanate from within its impossibly dark metal. It didn't gleam; it absorbed light, a void in the world, yet it drew the eye with an irresistible, terrifying magnetism. I’d fought my way to this chamber, through Theron’s desperate defenses, fueled by a singular, burning purpose: to reclaim what was lost, to erase the stain of my disgrace, and to finally, *finally*, stand tall again.
