The air in Jillian’s small apartment had begun to feel thick, almost suffocating, whenever Lucian was near. It wasn’t an unpleasant sensation, not precisely, but it was undeniably… heavy. Like the moments before a storm, charged with an energy that hummed beneath the surface of calm. He’d started spending more time there, his presence a silken shadow woven into the fabric of her days. He never forbade her from answering, never raised his voice, but his silent gaze was a potent, unspoken plea. "Let them wait," he'd murmur, his fingers tracing the delicate curve of her jaw. "They will always be there. But this… this moment, Jillian, is fleeting. And it is ours."
