Chapter 19
The Reckoning
Chaos reigns. The sanctuary is a storm of clashing steel, arcane energies, and desperate cries. Bishop Dark, a whirlwind of righteous fury, battles against overwhelming odds. He fights for Talia, for his own code, his every move fueled by a lifetime of pent-up rage and a newfound sense of purpose. He confronts not only the Church's soldiers but also the demons of his past, his 'too much' nature becoming a weapon against friend and foe alike in a desperate bid for survival and a chance at redemption.
The air crackled with the raw, untamed power of a storm unleashed. Steel shrieked against steel, a brutal symphony punctuated by the guttural roars of battle and the sharp, terrified cries of the innocent caught in the crossfire. Bishop Dark, a whirlwind of righteous fury, a storm unto himself, carved a path through the chaos. His Radiant Blade, Soul Sun, sang a searing song of light and damnation, each strike leaving wounds that burned with an unholy, holy fire. He was a force of nature, a man who did everything too much, and in this inferno, his excess was his salvation.
He fought for Talia. For the ghost of her laughter, for the phantom touch of her hand in his, for the gnawing emptiness that had hollowed him out for five long years. He fought for his own twisted code, a bastard child of the Church's dogma and his own brutal experience. Every move, every parry, every savage blow was fueled by a lifetime of pent-up rage, a reservoir of fury that had finally found its purpose.
The Church’s soldiers, once his employers, were now his enemies. Clad in gleaming silver armor, their faces grim masks of holy zeal, they pressed their attack. Abbot Kale’s orders, no doubt. The Abbot, a man who’d always wrung his hands at Bishop’s methods, had finally found a way to bring him to heel, or so he thought. Bishop scoffed, a harsh, barked sound that was lost in the din. The Church had underestimated him. They always did. They saw a weapon, a blunt instrument to wield against the darkness. They didn’t see the man, the brother, the hunter who carried his own demons as readily as he carried Soul Sun.
