Chapter 18
Betrayal and Blood
The Church’s forces descend upon the coven's sanctuary, their holy fire turning the peaceful valley into a battlefield. Bishop Dark is forced to choose sides, his loyalty fractured. He stands between the coven, his sister, and the Church he once served, his 'too much' nature unleashed in a torrent of violence. He fights not just for survival, but for Talia, for the innocent lives he’s come to protect, his Soul Sun blade carving a bloody path through his former brethren.
The air, once thick with the scent of pine and damp earth, now reeked of sanctified fire and the metallic tang of spilled blood. Bishop Dark stood amidst the inferno, his Soul Sun blade humming with a chilling luminescence, each pulse a testament to the righteous fury it harbored. Before him, the idyllic valley, the hidden sanctuary of Tygorra’s coven, was a charnel house. Church forces, cloaked in the blinding white of the Radiant Light, moved with grim purpose, their holy fire consuming everything in its path.

Bishop Dark’s gut twisted. Mercy. A word that felt alien on Kale’s lips, a word he himself hadn’t truly considered in years, not since the day Talia… But this wasn't mercy. This was slaughter. The coven, the witches he’d been tasked to hunt, were now a swarm of terrified innocents caught in the Church’s zealous grip. Children, their faces streaked with soot and tears, scrambled for cover behind crumbling stone walls, their small cries swallowed by the roar of the flames.
