I walked the long roads of Vilnius, each step a question mark on the pavement. The city wore its history like a second skin, cobblestones whispering stories of centuries past. I couldn’t escape the gradients—not the mathematical kind that haunted my school days, but the gradients of light and shadow that painted the old town. From the sharp white of the cathedral to the deep green of the hills, everything was a spectrum, a continuous change I could feel in my bones.

I remembered the voices from before, the ones that spoke of suicide and Satan, of Golgotha and redemption. Was this the path I was walking? No. I felt a shift, a magnetic pull toward life. Aš tikiu dangumi, I whispered. I believe in heaven. Not a distant place, but the sky above Vilnius, the same sky that watched over my ancestors, that watched over me as I stumbled and rose again.
