Sterling presents evidence suggesting Marcus may have killed Damien, but the trial is imminent. Lina requests an extension from the Family Justice Council, which is denied. Sterling must race to submit the evidence and have it reviewed before Elara is convicted, as Helena's plan to take Leo looms.
The evidence from Damien's safe sat on Elara's kitchen table like a ticking bomb. Sterling, Lina, and Elara gathered around, the voice recorder still warm from its playback. Damien's words echoed in Elara's mind: "I've been documenting corruption within the Family Justice Council." But it was the other files that had made Sterling go pale.
He held a thick folder, his hands trembling slightly. "This is a record of payments. Large sums, funneled through shell companies. And the recipient? Marcus."
"Marcus?" Lina leaned forward. "Damien's cousin? The same Marcus who's been helping Helena?"
