Helena returns home and begins calling shady contacts from a hidden address book, seeking help to ensure Elara's conviction. She meets with a former associate who owes her a favor, planning to manipulate evidence and witnesses. Meanwhile, Elara and Lina start building their defense, unaware of the looming threat.
Helena Vance sat in the back of her luxury car, the city lights blurring past as Marcus drove them away from Elara's modest home. The smug satisfaction she had felt moments earlier began to harden into something colder, more calculating. The formal charge was filed, yes, but that was only the beginning. The trial would be a battle, and she knew that in a battle, one needed every advantage.
"Take me home, Marcus," she said, her voice flat. "I have calls to make."
Marcus glanced at her in the rearview mirror. "Should I stay?"
