Chapter 4
Echoes of Fear
Maya's practicality clashes with Liam's determination as they search for Noah. Chloe's artistic senses pick up on unsettling feelings, while Ethan's protective instincts heighten, sensing danger closing in.
The silence that had descended upon the woods was no longer merely the absence of sound; it was a heavy, suffocating blanket, pressing in on Maya and Liam. Liam, his jaw set, pushed aside a low-hanging branch, his gaze fixed on the path ahead, or what passed for one. "We have to assume he did. We have to search." His determination was a shield, but Maya could see the cracks forming beneath the surface, the flicker of doubt in his usually unwavering eyes. He felt the weight of Noah’s absence as a personal failing, a testament to his leadership.
