The air in this supposed sanctuary crackled with an energy that felt both ancient and brittle, like dried leaves threatening to crumble at a harsh breath. I’d been directed here by the Goddess, her ethereal form shimmering with a desperation that had somehow seeped into the very stones of this desolate valley. “The Oracle of Whispers,” she’d called it, a being whose mind, or what was left of it, was said to hold echoes of what was to come. My current task was to sift through these fragments, to find something, anything, that might illuminate a path through the Hollow King’s suffocating darkness.

I found it in a hollowed-out mountain, a cavern that seemed to breathe with a faint, mournful sigh. A star, burning brightly, then extinguished. These were not prophecies of a singular future, but fractured glimpses, shattered shards of potential realities.

But here, the air itself seemed to vibrate with the residue of *what could be*. I reached out, tentatively, my fingers brushing against the cool, smooth surface of the crystal. A jolt, not of pain, but of overwhelming sensory input, shot through me.
