Chapter 11
Echoes of a Past Conflict
Leo uncovers fragments of history suggesting past tensions between the human and monster realms, revealing the roots of potential conflict.

The inscription was fragmented, the glowing script flickering as if the very memory it held was fading, but the words that remained clawed at Leo’s curiosity: “...the rift widened… the screams echoed… the pact broken… never forget the price of their betrayal…”
Lyra, her iridescent scales catching the ambient light as she glided through the labyrinthine aisles, found him hunched over the tablet, his clawed fingers tracing the alien symbols. Her usual bright curiosity was tempered with a gentle concern. "Leo? You seem troubled. Is something amiss with the records?"
