He had approached her again yesterday, this time outside the grocery store, the late afternoon sun glinting off his sharp features. He hadn’t touched her, hadn’t raised his voice, but his presence was an assault. “You look happy, Elara,” he’d said, his smile not reaching his eyes. “It’s good to see. Though, happiness can be… fragile, can’t it?”
