The Gnome Uprising
The gnomes, now fully animated, begin making demands – tiny castles! Elara realizes the pact's energy is escalating, threatening to permanently alter Willow Creek's reality.
The morning sun, usually a cheerful splash of yellow across Elara’s bedroom floor, seemed to be squinting suspiciously through the window. Elara, still half-asleep, felt a tickle of unease that had nothing to do with her lumpy pillow. It had been a night of unsettling dreams, not of spooky specters or rattling chains, but of tiny hats. So many tiny hats. And a faint, insistent hum, like a million miniature sewing machines working overtime.
She shuffled to the window, pulling back the lace curtains that smelled faintly of lavender and forgotten birthdays. The street below was usually a quiet tableau of dew-kissed lawns and sleeping mailboxes. Today, however, it was a riot of improbable colour and organised absurdity.
