Episode 41

The air in Cache Valley had changed. It was no longer the crisp, untamed breath of wilderness Jedediah Smith and his men had first inhaled. He traced the lines of his journeys, the ink smudged and faded, a testament to the very wilderness he had sought to conquer. But the ‘uncharted’ territories were no longer so. The names he’d etched onto its surface, the landmarks he’d discovered, were now becoming known, spoken aloud in the burgeoning settlements. The secrets he’d unearthed were being claimed, their resources meticulously cataloged and exploited.
