After the storm, Oru reveals an ancient shell map marked with a mountain, spiral, and star, guiding them to the Moonlit Trench and the Crystal Pearl's resting place.
The storm had raged with a ferocity that Nalu had only heard whispered about in the pod’s oldest tales, a tempest that churned the very depths of their world. Now, as the last vestiges of its fury subsided, a profound stillness settled over the water. The cave they had found shelter in, a damp, echoing hollow carved into the rocky cliff face, felt like a sanctuary after the chaos. Nalu nudged Kiko, who was still trembling slightly, his small body pressed close. Oru, the ancient turtle, surfaced from a quiet doze, his scarred shell glistening in the dim light filtering from the cave’s entrance.
“Are you alright, Oru?” Nalu asked, his voice still a little shaky. He nudged the old turtle’s flipper with his nose.
Oru blinked his wise, ancient eyes, a slow, deliberate movement. A gentle smile crinkled the corners of his leathery face. “Because of you, young Nalu,” he said, his voice a deep, resonant rumble that seemed to vibrate through the very rock. “You and Kiko, you saved an old turtle from becoming a pile of shells on the rocks.”
