The clang of handcuffs echoed in the sterile precinct hallway, a sharp, final sound that seemed to absorb the lingering tension of the night. The adrenaline that had fueled his frenzied rampage through the darkened corridors of Building C had finally drained away, leaving him hollow and defeated. Detective Isabella Rossi watched from a few feet away, her own body aching with a weariness that went deeper than muscle fatigue. The air still tasted of stale fear and the metallic tang of blood, a scent that had become all too familiar in this haunted corner of Houston.

“It’s over,” she stated, her voice raspy, devoid of triumph. There was no victory to be savored here, only the grim satisfaction of a predator caged. The raw, primal rage that had driven GBG Glocks, the desperate need for retribution for his brother’s life, had been a potent, destructive force. Rossi had seen it flicker in his eyes during their brief, violent confrontation, a mirror of the darkness that had claimed so many lives within these walls.

Officer Ramirez, a burly man whose usual jovial demeanor had been replaced by a grim focus, gave a curt nod. “He’s down for the count, Detective. Forensics is already on their way to process the scene.”
