The bait had been simple: a whispered rumor of a hidden cache of evidence, a final confession waiting to be discovered within the very bowels of Building C. It was a lure designed for a narcissist, a desperate man fueled by a twisted sense of righteousness. GBG Glocks. The name itself was a guttural snarl, a promise of violence.

“He’ll be here,” Rossi murmured, her voice low, barely disturbing the oppressive silence. “Thorne, you stay close. Eleanor, the back exit, if it comes to that.”
