The biting wind, a constant companion in this land of perpetual twilight, seemed to whisper secrets only Ravine and Tina could understand. It tugged at Tina’s hair, a playful, insistent hand, much like Ravine’s own had become. They stood on a frozen lake, the vast expanse of white stretching out before them, mirroring the endless possibilities of their future. Snowflakes, delicate and ephemeral, danced around them, each one a tiny promise of something new.

“Is cold,” Ravine stated, her voice a gravelly rumble against the wind’s sigh. She pulled Tina closer, her arm a solid, possessive weight around Tina’s waist. The rough wool of her coat scratched gently against Tina’s cheek, a familiar, comforting sensation. Tina leaned into the embrace, breathing in the distinct scent of pine and something wild, something undeniably Ravine.

“It is,” Tina agreed, her voice soft. She tilted her head back, meeting Ravine’s dark, intense gaze. There was a new softness there, a flicker of something akin to peace that hadn’t been present in their early days. It was a fragile thing, this peace, but it was there, blooming in the desolate beauty of their surroundings. “But I’m not cold when I’m with you.”
