The crisp Arctic air, once a thrilling novelty, now felt like a familiar cloak around Tina’s shoulders. She traced the condensation on the windowpane, watching snow dust the already pristine landscape outside their small, isolated cabin. It was a world away from the bustling streets she’d grown up on, a world that now felt impossibly distant. Beside her, Ravine was a fierce, coiled presence, her brow furrowed in concentration as she meticulously cleaned a hunting rifle. The rhythmic click and slide of the metal was a sound that had, against all odds, become a lullaby for Tina.

“You think about home?” Ravine’s voice, still thick with its distinctive accent, cut through the quiet. She didn’t look up, her gaze fixed on the weapon.

Tina turned from the window, a soft smile playing on her lips. “Sometimes. But this is… this is home now, too.” She hesitated, then added, “With you.”
