Alex, reclined upon the blood throne, felt the residual chill of his long sleep seep from his bones. A primal urge, a dark allure that had resonated with a part of him he hadn't known existed. Then, the abrupt end, the fading consciousness, and the long, dreamless void.
Lilith, her eyes like twin pools of molten gold, knelt before him, her gaze a tempest of adoration and veiled desperation.
