Lilly, drawn by his quiet wisdom, had sought him out after deciphering the cryptic verses of the prophecy. He’d listened patiently, his eyes, the color of a stormy sea, fixed on her as she recounted the unsettling words.
“The Weaver’s threads are not of silk, child,” he’d said then, his voice a low rumble. “They are spun from doubt and fear.”
