As Felix regains some strength, he begins discussing a potential comeback. He wants to surprise everyone, to show he's not giving up. Hyunjin is his biggest cheerleader.
The sterile scent of the recovery room, once a constant companion, was slowly fading, replaced by the fainter, sweeter aroma of the potted orchid Hyunjin had insisted on bringing. Felix traced the delicate curve of a petal, a small, almost imperceptible smile gracing his lips. It had been weeks since he’d been discharged, weeks of gentle physiotherapy, of quiet days spent poring over old concert footage, of whispered conversations with Hyunjin about the future. The recovery was not a swift, dramatic affair, but a slow, deliberate unfolding, like the hesitant bloom of the orchid itself. Each day brought a fraction more strength, a tiny victory against the exhaustion that had threatened to consume him.
“Thinking about the stage again?” Hyunjin’s voice, soft as a summer breeze, drifted from the doorway. He held two steaming mugs, the comforting scent of chamomile tea wafting with him.
Felix nodded, his gaze still fixed on the flower. “Always. It feels like a part of me I left behind, you know? Like a limb that’s just starting to remember how to move.” He took the mug Hyunjin offered, the warmth seeping into his chilled fingers.
