Chapter 19
Confronting the Abyss
Leo makes his final preparations for a confrontation, but it is not solely with the Shadow Weaver. He must also face the abyss of his own identity and the destiny that has been thrust upon him. The ultimate decision looms: will he allow himself to be a mere tool of the coven, a reluctant savior, or will he forge something entirely new from the disparate pieces of his existence? The outcome will determine his true nature.
The air in the chamber crackled, not with the usual hum of nascent magic, but with a tension that felt older than stone, heavier than despair. Leo turned, his gaze, once filled with the hesitant curiosity of a newborn soul, now held a steely resolve. His eyes, they said, glowed with an inner fire now, a testament to the power that pulsed beneath his skin, a power he still struggled to fully comprehend, let alone control. "And what if I refuse to be that fulcrum, Morwen? What if I shatter the threads instead?"
