The world, once a collection of separate entities – me here, you there, the sky above, the ground below – began to shimmer. It wasn't a violent disruption, no seismic shift that rattled the foundations of my existence. Instead, it was a subtle, almost imperceptible softening, like worn velvet yielding to a gentle touch. The edges, so sharply defined before, started to blur, and in their place, a new kind of clarity emerged, one that saw not boundaries, but continuations.

I remember sitting by the window one afternoon, the sun a warm weight on my skin. A sparrow hopped across the lawn, its quick, jerky movements a familiar sight. This wasn't a thought, not a logical deduction. It was a direct experience, a visceral knowing. The same urge to survive, the same simple joy in finding sustenance, the same vulnerability to the elements – it all resonated within me. And then, it expanded. The grass beneath the sparrow, the soil it foraged in, the air it breathed, the sun that warmed us both – they weren't just surroundings anymore. They were extensions of it, extensions of me.
