THE ROOM BENEATH THE STATION
At 1:18 a.m., Maya stood outside Bellhaven's abandoned train station, wondering whether she had finally lost her mind.
The building had been closed for almost eight years. Its glass entrance doors were covered with dust, and faded notices hung crookedly on the walls. Weeds grew between the paving stones. Above the entrance, an old clock had stopped at 12:07.
