Chapter 5
The Obsidian Citadel
Their path leads to a forgotten fortress, a place of immense power tied to the god's prison. Here, Valerius confronts his own doubts, and Lyra faces a crucial test of her burgeoning abilities.
The wind howled like a banshee around the jagged peaks, a mournful symphony that scraped against Lyra’s raw nerves. Above them, the sky bled a bruised twilight, stars choked by an encroaching, unnatural darkness. Beside her, Valerius, a silhouette carved from granite and grim determination, scanned the treacherous ascent. Each gust seemed to carry the faintest, most unsettling whisper, a sound that vibrated deep within Lyra’s bones, a chilling echo of the Whispering God.

Not a fortress built by mortal hands, but a prison forged in the dawn of creation, a place where the very fabric of reality had been woven to contain the encroaching madness of the Whispering God. It was a place of legend, a place of nightmares, and their only hope.
"The air grows thin," Valerius stated, his voice a low rumble that barely cut through the wind’s shriek. He adjusted the heavy cloak on his shoulders, his gaze fixed on a narrow pass that snaked upwards like a scar.
