Chapter 15
Confronting the Past
Kael faces a trial within the temple, forcing him to confront painful memories and the true cost of his unique existence.
The air within the ancient temple hung heavy, thick with the scent of dust and a strange, resonant quiet that seemed to press in on Kael’s very bones. Every stone, every etched symbol on the towering walls, felt alive, humming with a power that both enthralled and terrified him. The place where the threads of fate were first woven, and where they can be unraveled.”
Kael’s own heart hammered against his ribs. He could feel it, a palpable energy thrumming beneath the surface of reality, a force that resonated with the emptiness where his Fate Mark should have been. It was a strange kinship, this feeling of being intrinsically connected to a place that had been hidden from the world for so long.
