The Colossal Drop
They brave the 'Colossal Drop,' a near-vertical slide. Luna squeals, gripping Blaze's arm tightly at the top. Their shared thrill creates an intense, electric moment as they plummet, a silent understanding passing between them.
The Colossal Drop loomed before them, a serpentine behemoth of slick, blue plastic that twisted and coiled towards the churning pool below. It was the park's most notorious ride, a test of courage whispered about in hushed, excited tones. Blaze watched Luna’s eyes widen as they approached, a thrill mixed with a flicker of apprehension dancing in their depths. He knew, with a certainty that settled warm in his chest, that she would want to conquer it. He wouldn’t dream of letting her go alone.
“Ready for the big one, Luna?” he asked, his voice a little huskier than usual, a nervous tremor he hoped she wouldn’t notice.
Luna bounced on the balls of her feet, her enthusiasm a bright spark against the afternoon sun. “Are you kidding? That’s the whole reason we came! I’ve been staring at it since we got here!” She grinned, a wide, infectious thing that made Blaze’s heart do a little flip. “You too, right? You’re not chicken, are you, Blaze?”
