The grand ballroom of the royal palace buzzed with a hushed excitement. Chandeliers dripped with a thousand tiny flames, casting a warm, golden glow upon the assembled nobility. It was a night of celebration, a night for the kingdom to bask in the benevolent reign of King Theron. And for me, Elias Thorne, it was a night of quiet triumph, a night where the phantom threads of a forgotten narrative were finally being woven into a tapestry of our own making.

Theron stood beside me, his presence a steady, comforting anchor. He was resplendent in his royal attire, the weight of the crown a familiar burden he bore with grace. He had been listening, truly listening, to the jumbled fragments I’d shared of my former life, of the story I had been thrust into. He hadn't dismissed my ramblings as madness, or the fanciful delusions of a man unaccustomed to courtly life. Instead, he had met my anxieties with a calm, analytical gaze, his mind already working to bridge the chasms in the narrative.

"You speak of plot holes, Elias," Theron had said earlier, his voice a low rumble in the privacy of his study, the scent of aged parchment and beeswax thick in the air. "Of narrative inconsistencies that plagued your… previous understanding of events." He’d paused, his eyes, the color of a stormy sea, holding mine. "It seems the author of your former world was rather fond of convenient omissions."
