Prague. The very name conjured images of spires piercing a sky the color of aged parchment, of cobblestone streets whispering secrets of centuries past, and of the sweet, smoky scent of trdelník wafting through the air. It was a city that felt, in its very bones, like a fairy tale. And it was here, amidst this enchanting tapestry, that I met Coco.
I’d been drawn to a tiny shop, tucked away on a winding lane not far from the Charles Bridge. It wasn’t a bakery, nor a traditional restaurant, but something else entirely. Shelves overflowed with shimmering crystals, intricately carved wooden boxes, and an array of herbs I couldn’t quite identify, their mingled aromas creating a heady, almost intoxicating perfume. It was, I soon discovered, a metaphysical shop, and its proprietor, Coco, was as captivating as her wares.
Coco was a woman of striking contrasts. Her hair, the color of midnight, was usually woven into an elaborate braid adorned with silver charms. Her eyes, the shade of moss after a spring rain, held a deep, knowing sparkle. She moved with a fluid grace, as if she were dancing to a silent, ancient melody. I’d come seeking a particular type of enchanted salt, a recommendation from a fellow traveler, but I left with so much more.
