Zasaki's Insight

Yami confides in his friend Zasaki about his feelings for Sakura. Zasaki, who dislikes Aiko, offers support and encouragement for Yami's pursuit.

The city, a tapestry of muted grays and hurried footsteps, seemed to hold its breath as Yami walked, each stride a deliberate echo against the indifferent pavement. The weight of unspoken words, of a love that bloomed in the shadow of another’s claim, pressed down on him like the humid air of a summer storm gathering strength. He sought the familiar solace of Zasaki’s company, a harbor in the turbulent sea of his heart.

Zasaki’s apartment was a riot of cheerful disarray, a stark contrast to Yami’s meticulously ordered existence. Books were piled precariously, music notes danced across the floor, and the aroma of brewing coffee, strong and assertive, filled the air. Zasaki, ever the vibrant counterpoint to Yami’s introspection, greeted him with a booming laugh and an outstretched hand, his eyes, bright and knowing, assessing Yami’s troubled countenance.

“My dear Yami,” Zasaki declared, his voice laced with affectionate teasing, “you wear your heart on your sleeve today, and it appears to be a rather distressed garment.” He clapped Yami on the shoulder, guiding him towards a worn but comfortable armchair. “Coffee? Or perhaps something stronger to drown the sorrows of a lawyer’s weary soul?”
