He found Lisa by the edge of the Whispering Woods, her back to him, a silhouette against the bruised twilight sky. Even from a distance, he could sense the hum of power radiating from her, a vibrant energy that always seemed to dance just beneath her skin. She was studying a cluster of phosphorescent fungi, their eerie glow illuminating the intricate patterns on her dark cloak.
“Anything?” he asked, his voice a low rumble that barely disturbed the quiet.
