After departing the Crystal Throne, Kenny and the Space Hunters celebrate but soon discover that Crane is not fully free—a remnant of the splinter still lurks within him. The Throne communicates through Kenny's crystal fragment, warning that Crane's hidden corruption will spread unless purged. Kenny must confront Crane in a tense confrontation, using his new warden abilities to heal rather than destroy. The chapter ends with Kenny forging a deeper bond with Crane and receiving a cryptic message from the Throne about a forgotten realm.
The Stardancer hummed with a quiet contentment as it pulled away from the Crystal Throne. The nebula outside the viewport painted the bridge in hues of violet and gold, and the crew sat in a rare moment of peace. Kenny leaned back in the co-pilot seat, Sona beside him, her hand resting on his. Kranos stood at the helm, his gruff expression softened by the warm light. Mera was at the engineering console, Dreg doing maintenance on a weapon harness, and Crane sat alone in the corner, his eyes distant.
"I can't believe it's over," Sona said softly.
Kenny shook his head. "It's not over. It's just... a new beginning."
