The Queen's Gambit
As the Hive fleet surrounds the Crystal Throne, Kenny prepares for battle but is stunned when the queen contacts him directly. She reveals herself as his aunt, forced to serve the ancient evil's will, and offers an alliance to stop Crane, who is coming with the final prison fragment. Kenny must decide whether to trust his greatest enemy.
The bridge of the Stardancer hummed with tension. Outside the viewport, the Hive fleet emerged from the nebula like a swarm of locusts—dozens of organic ships, pulsing with bioluminescent light, their hulls slick with chitin and membrane. At their center, a colossal vessel dwarfed the others: a living fortress of fused flesh and crystal, its surface crawling with tendrils and eyes.
“That’s her flagship,” Kranos growled, his hands gripping the armrest of his chair. “The Hive queen herself.”
“Shields up. All weapons to full power,” Mera ordered, her voice steady despite the tremor in her hands.
