The air outside the Temple felt different. It wasn't just the familiar scent of pine and damp earth after a rain, but something lighter, cleaner, as if the very atmosphere had been scrubbed free of dust and doubt. We stood blinking in the sunlight, the heavy stone door of the Temple sealed behind us, looking like it had never been disturbed, not even by the whispers of wind. It was as if the ancient place had simply sighed and tucked itself away again, waiting for another time, another need.
Joseph stretched, his arms reaching for the sky as if trying to encompass the whole of the world. "Wow," he breathed, a wide grin splitting his face. "I feel… lighter. Like I could run all the way home without even getting tired." He bounced on the balls of his feet, a restless energy still humming beneath his skin.
Noah, ever the observer, adjusted his glasses, his gaze sweeping over the familiar, yet now profoundly altered, landscape. "It's more than just feeling lighter, Joseph. It's like… a weight has been lifted. Not a physical one, but something deeper." He looked at me, his eyes reflecting a quiet wonder. "Remember how I was worried? About all the unknowns? It feels like all that worry just… evaporated."
