The air within the chamber hummed, not with the crackle of magic or the clang of treasure, but with a quiet, profound stillness that seeped into our very bones. The artifact, nestled in its ancient cradle, didn't pulse with light or roar with power. It simply *was*. A smooth, obsidian-like stone, cool to the touch, etched with patterns that seemed to shift and reform the longer you looked. It was beautiful, yes, but not in the way I’d imagined. Not a crown of gold or a sword of fire.

“So… this is it?” Joseph’s voice, usually so boisterous, was hushed, tinged with a confusion that mirrored my own. He reached out a tentative finger, then pulled it back, as if afraid to disturb the delicate silence.

Noah, ever the observer, was already running his gaze over the intricate carvings. “It’s… peaceful,” he murmured, his brow furrowed in thought. “Not what I expected, but… peaceful.”
