The Math Competition Challenge
A school math competition is announced! Inspired by their historical heroes, Abdul and his friends eagerly form a team, ready to test their newfound passion and understanding against other students.
The air in the classroom crackled with a different kind of energy today. Usually, it was the muffled sound of pencils scratching, the occasional sigh of frustration, or the teacher, Mr. Davies, clearing his throat. But this morning, it was a buzz, like a swarm of very excited bees had decided to take up residence amongst the desks. Mr. Davies stood at the front, a wide smile stretching across his face, his eyes twinkling behind his spectacles. He held up a brightly coloured poster.
“Attention, students!” he boomed, his voice echoing slightly. “I have an exciting announcement for all of you!”
My heart did a little leap. Exciting announcements were usually about field trips or perhaps a surprise half-day. But this poster… it had a picture of a golden trophy and a giant question mark.
