Anya, wrapped in a borrowed, oversized shawl, huddled on a threadbare armchair, her eyes still wide with the lingering fear of her ordeal. Dmitri sat beside her, his hand a comforting weight on her shoulder, while Nickola paced the floor, his usual boisterous energy subdued by the gravity of their situation. The antagonist, a man whose name they no longer dared to speak, was gone, his network dismantled, his secrets exposed. Yet, the quiet that followed the storm felt fragile, a thin veil over the chaos that had consumed their lives.

"Are you sure you're alright, Anya?" Dmitri's voice was a low rumble, laced with concern.

Anya nodded, a small, tremulous gesture. "As alright as I can be, Dmitri. It's... it's just the silence. After all the noise." She shivered, not from the cold, but from the residual echo of threats and confinement. The ballet world, once her sanctuary, now felt tainted. The glittering costumes, the thunderous applause, the very art she lived for, had been a stage for a far more sinister performance.
