The air in the opulent, dimly lit study was thick with unspoken tension. Anya, her usually ethereal grace subdued by the ordeal, sat by the crackling fireplace, a silk shawl clutched around her shoulders. Her eyes, though regaining some of their spark, held a lingering shadow of fear. Dmitri, his face etched with relief and a burgeoning anger, paced the Persian rug, his fists clenched. Nickola, ever the steady presence, watched Anya with a quiet intensity, his gaze absorbing every subtle shift in her expression.

"Tell us again, Anya," Dmitri finally said, his voice a low rumble. "Every detail. From the moment you realized something was wrong."

Anya took a deep breath, her gaze drifting to the flickering flames. "It was after the final rehearsal for Swan Lake. I… I had overheard something. Something I wasn't supposed to hear. About the finances, Dmitri. About… irregularities." Her voice faltered. "Mr. Volkov. He was in the director's office, speaking with someone on the phone. Words like 'diversion,' 'offshore accounts'… and then he mentioned my performance. How it was the perfect distraction, how no one would suspect anything if the star ballerina suddenly… disappeared."
