Luna’s mind raced, a whirlwind of unspoken questions and burgeoning emotions. Moana, so young, so alone. At twelve years old, no child should navigate this world without a guiding hand, a loving embrace. Luna, now a woman of age, with the weight of kingdoms on her shoulders, felt a fierce protectiveness bloom within her. "Moana," she began, her voice soft but firm, "would you… would you like to become my daughter?"

Moana’s eyes widened, a spark of disbelief followed by a radiant joy that lit up her face. "Yes! Oh, please, yes!" she exclaimed, a happy sob escaping her. She leaped up, her earlier embarrassment forgotten, and twirled around, a spontaneous song bubbling from her lips, a melody as bright as her newfound hope. After a quick clean-up and a change into fresh clothes, they rejoined the others at the restaurant. With a renewed sense of purpose, Luna announced her decision to an astonished but supportive group: Moana would be her daughter, Princess of the Star Lake, and a beacon for the werewolf and vampire packs. The idea, Luna mused, was a beautiful one, a blending of destinies.

After their celebratory meal, the group boarded the bus, Moana now a part of their traveling family. As they prepared to depart, Moana voiced a request. "Could we stop by where I was staying? I need to get my things." The others readily agreed, and the bus rumbled towards a building that looked as ancient and forgotten as a whispered legend. A group of grim-faced men loitered by the entrance, their presence casting a shadow over the dilapidated structure. Luna, ever the protector, stepped out of the bus and approached them, her voice steady despite the unsettling atmosphere. "Can I help you?" she asked. One of the men stepped forward, his gaze hard. "We need payment," he stated, his words a blunt demand.
