The Moonlit Cottage

4 min read

The moon hung low in the star-studded sky, casting a silvery glow over the small cottage tucked away in the woods. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of pine and the faint echo of laughter. There lived a little girl named Luna and her brother Jordan and her mom Lyra and her dad Kaleb they were part of the moonlight pack but something happened to Lunas mom the day the twins were born a man by the name Malik showed up with a moonflower which is very deadly for hafe breed’s so Lunas mom jumped in between protecting her babies but end the end she got stabbed in the heart and passed away everyone was so devastated so kal ran with the twins and took them into hiding but on the twin's 4th birthday there was a strange Man that showed up

and he they called him alpha Lee and he had a son that was the same age as the

twins named Max him and Luna were best friends and so when Luna saw Max she

ran right to him and her father walked up to his dad and alpha Lee went into

another room when me and Jordan were in the living room and max asked me

“ what do you think they are saying” I don't know max” ok mean while alpha Lee

and Kal were talking why are you here alpha Lee what is going on said Kal alpha

Lee answered and said that there is someone coming for your family and you have to

hide the twins and max and Luna can't see each other Kal asked why who is coming Lee responded it is Malik he is back and Luna can't find out that see is the heir of the moonlight pack and dark shadow pack Wow said Kal ok I will take them to center and I will leave this box with her and hopefully she will be powerful to defeat Malik A sudden clatter from the kitchen startled them, and Kal’s voice, sharp with urgency, cut through the quiet. “Max, Luna, Jordan! Get in here, now!” Max and Luna exchanged a nervous glance, their young faces etched with confusion. Jordan, ever the protector, instinctively moved closer to Luna. As they entered the kitchen, Kal stood over a small, intricately carved wooden box, his knuckles white against the dark wood. Alpha Lee stood beside him, his expression grim. “Children,” Kal began, his voice strained, “we have to leave. Tonight.” Luna’s eyes widened. “Leave? But why, Papa? Where are we going?”

Kal knelt, his gaze sweeping over each of them, heavy with unspoken worry. “There are dangers approaching, sweetheart. Dangers we can’t face here.” He picked up the box, pressing it into Luna’s hands. “This is for you. Keep it safe. Don’t open it until I tell you to.” The wood felt warm against her small palms, a strange energy humming beneath its surface. Jordan gripped her arm, his brow furrowed. “But Papa, what about our home? Our things?” Alpha Lee stepped forward, his voice a low rumble. “We’ll send for them, son. For now, we must go. There’s no time to waste.”

He gestured towards the back door, his urgency palpable. Outside, the sounds of the forest seemed to deepen, the wind whispering secrets through the pines. Max, usually so boisterous, was uncharacteristically silent, his eyes darting between Luna and his father. A knot of fear tightened in Luna’s stomach as she clutched the box tighter. This wasn't a game; this was real. Kal scooped up Jordan, his movements swift and sure. "Lee, take Luna and Max. We’ll meet at the old crossing." Without another word, Kal was out the door and into the inky blackness, Jordan a small bundle in his arms. Alpha Lee took Luna’s hand, his grip firm yet gentle. "Come, children. We must hurry."
