Sunlight, now unhindered by the oppressive canopy of the ancient forest, streamed through the shattered stained-glass windows, painting fractured rainbows on the stone floor. Alice stood at the center of the desecrated space, the echoes of battle fading into a profound silence. Around her, the remnants of Elder Kaelen’s power lay scattered – broken staffs, torn ceremonial robes, and the defeated faces of those who had once sought to control her destiny.

The Night of Seeding was undone. The ritual, a twisted promise of renewal that had always felt like a violation to her, had been stopped. It had cost much, far more than Alice had ever imagined, but the price of inaction would have been a soul irrevocably bound to a darkness she could not bear. The rebels, a motley collection of farmers, artisans, and outcasts who had suffered under the Oracle clan’s iron fist for generations, had fought with a ferocity born of desperation and a yearning for freedom. Roric, his face etched with exhaustion but alight with victory, stood by her side, his gaze steady.

“It is done, Alice,” he said, his voice rough but carrying a note of profound relief. “The Oracle clan’s grip is broken.”
