The worn velvet lining of the music box, once a vibrant sapphire, had faded to a muted, dusty blue, much like the sky outside Elara’s window these past few weeks. It smelled faintly of lavender and forgotten lullabies. Nestled within its depths, beneath the tiny, chipped porcelain ballerina that no longer twirled, lay the clue. It wasn't a grand map etched on parchment, but a delicate, pressed flower, its petals the color of a dying ember, with a single, ink-thin line drawn across its surface, pointing vaguely eastward. Beside it, written in her grandmother’s spidery hand, were the words: "Where the river weeps silver."

Elara traced the line with a fingertip, a familiar ache tightening her chest. Weeping silver. Elara clutched the music box, its cool wood a small comfort against her palm. The legend of the Starlight Grove, a place whispered about in hushed tones by the elders, a place of vibrant life and healing music, felt like the only hope left. The fragmented clues, gleaned from her grandmother’s rambling stories and the cryptic advice of the old owl, were piecing together, forming a fragile path forward. This flower, this single, faded bloom, was the first tangible step.
