Chapter 15
The Arrival
The twins are born, bringing immense joy and a profound sense of wonder. Witnessing their children for the first time solidifies their commitment to a shared future.
The sterile scent of the hospital, a familiar perfume of anticipation and relief, clung to the air. Lola’s breath hitched, a trembling exhale that stirred the thin blanket. Outside the room, the muffled sounds of the hallway – a distant cart, a hushed conversation – seemed to belong to another world, a world that had paused just for this momentous occasion. They were a tableau of disbelief and wonder, three figures bound by an invisible thread of shared experience.
