The Whispering Woods lived up to its name, not with the gentle rustle of leaves, but with a low, resonant hum that seemed to emanate from the very soil. Kam Kam, her heart a drumbeat against her ribs, pushed aside a curtain of emerald moss. Before her lay a challenge that made the singing stream and the dancing fireflies seem like child’s play. It was the Tangled Thicket, a wall of thorns so dense and so alive, it seemed to breathe.
