Kam Kam’s small boots crunched on a carpet of fallen leaves, each step a testament to her unwavering resolve. The air in the Whispering Woods, once alive with the gentle hum of unseen life, now felt thick with an unspoken tension. Deeper and deeper she ventured, the dappled sunlight filtering through the dense canopy painting shifting patterns on the forest floor. “Hello?” she called out, her voice trembling slightly, a fragile thread of sound in the vast silence. Only the rustling leaves answered. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. She had faced the sprites, navigated the treacherous thicket, and listened to the wisdom of the ancient tree. This was just another trial, she told herself. A necessary one.
