Tap-Dancing Towards Adventure

Brian felt a little wiggle deep inside his jar. It was a tingle, like when you’ve had too much fizzy Martian pop. But this tingle was different. This tingle felt… exciting! His glass home, usually so still, seemed to hum with anticipation. He looked at Zorp and Gleep, his best brainy buddies, who were bobbing their bulbous heads with wide, eager eyes. The shimmering portal, that strange, wobbly window that had appeared out of nowhere on the dusty red plains of Mars, pulsed with a soft, inviting glow. It looked like a giant, wobbly jelly that had been dropped in the middle of nowhere.

“Go on, Brian!” Zorp’s voice, a low rumble from his jar, encouraged him. Zorp was always a little bit worried, like a Martian mama hen clucking over her adventurous chick. “Show them what you’ve got! Show them those fancy footwork flutters!”

Gleep, whose jar was always a little bit tilted, giggled with delight. “Tap, tap, tap, Brian! Go on! We’re all watching!” Gleep was the most excitable brain on Mars, and his enthusiasm was as bright as the twin Martian moons.
