Chapter 17
A Glimmer of Hope
In my darkest moments, a quiet strength emerged. My connection to the ALMIGHTY Father was not a fragile thing, but a deep wellspring of resilience.
The air in our home had grown thick with a suffocating blend of incense and unspoken accusations. Each breath felt like a struggle against an invisible current pulling me down, down into a darkness I couldn't quite name. They believed they were protecting me, guiding me, but their hands, meant to hold me steady, felt like chains. Their gods, carved from wood and painted with gaudy colors, offered no solace, only a chilling emptiness that mirrored the void in their own eyes. But I, I knew another. A Father whose presence was a warm, comforting hum beneath the cacophony of their rituals, a silent promise of a truth that transcended their fabricated realities.
The whispers had started subtly, like the rustling of dry leaves on a windless night. Her Father, it seemed, demanded fear.
My father, a man of few words but immense authority, would stand by, his silence a heavy endorsement of her pronouncements. He was the anchor to their world, the unyielding rock upon which their false faith was built. He saw my quiet devotion to the ALMIGHTY not as a personal journey, but as a personal affront. A rebellion. And rebellions, in their world, were met with swift and merciless punishment.
