Chapter 5
Embracing the Light
Empowered by the elder's words, Jerry agrees to learn from the divine spirit. He trains to master his light, not as a weapon, but as a way to share love and bring freedom to others in the village.
The Wise Elder’s words had settled in Jerry’s heart like warm pebbles after a long, cold rain. He looked at the elder, his face a map of gentle wrinkles etched by time and wisdom, and a new understanding bloomed within him. It wasn't just his light, not just a flicker he possessed. It was a spark, a breath, a part of something immeasurably vast and loving, something that had chosen him, Jerry, a simple boy from this shadowed village.
“So,” Jerry began, his voice soft but firm, a newfound resonance within it, “this… this light… it’s not just for me to keep safe?”
The elder’s smile was a slow unfurling. “No, child. A light meant to be hidden is no light at all. It is a gift, yes, but a gift meant to be shared. And this light you carry,” he gestured towards Jerry’s chest, where the faint, warm glow pulsed beneath his tunic, “is a reflection of the greatest love there is. It’s a love that desires freedom, not chains; joy, not sorrow; life, not this creeping gloom that tries to steal it all.”
