The air in the hangar, usually thick with the scent of oil and ambition, now held a different kind of tension. It was the hushed, almost reverent atmosphere that settled over a crime scene, or in this case, a scientific enigma. Scientists, their faces pale under the harsh industrial lights, moved with a meticulous, almost fearful grace around the mangled remains of Project Asteria. They spoke in hushed tones, their words laced with an incredulity that Benjamin, standing a respectful distance away, could almost taste.

“The tensile strength… it defies everything we know about metallurgy,” a woman with sharp eyes and a lab coat draped over her shoulders murmured, her voice barely a whisper. She pointed a gloved finger at a twisted piece of what was once the aircraft’s fuselage. “This alloy… it’s as if the very atoms have been rearranged. We’re seeing molecular structures that simply shouldn’t exist.”

Beside her, a younger man, his brow furrowed in concentration, tapped a tablet. “And the rocket booster, Colonel,” he said, his voice tight with a mixture of awe and unease. “It’s… it’s like nothing we’ve ever encountered. The energy signatures are off the charts, but there’s no discernible power source. It’s as if it’s drawing power from… somewhere else.”
